I do this for unconditional love.

Meet Dr. Huma Pierce~ The Founder of LuckyandLoyal.com

I never set out to build a company, I had a thriving practice helping people. But I had to save my dog.

I'm Dr. Huma Pierce, and before there was LuckyandLoyal.com, there was Cooper. He was my heart. My shadow. The little soul who followed me from room to room for almost 20 beautiful years. We laid him to rest in 2025, but he set this whole journey in motion long before that.

In 2018, he injured two discs in his back, just lifting a leg to pee. He over rotated and rolled down a hill. He then started dragging a leg behind him. I still remember the fear that kicked me in the chest, watching it happen. It felt like time was reaching in to take someone I loved with my whole soul. My soul was in danger.

And I could not accept it. We weren't ready to let go of one another. After 27 years as a chiropractic physician specializing in biomechanics, with a foundation in vertebrate evolutionary biology from the University of Toronto, I poured everything I knew into helping Cooper keep moving, keep exploring, keep being himself.

I made him a promise. I would fight for his mobility, his dignity, and his joy for as long as he wanted to keep going. His joy was my joy. And I would carry that promise forward, to every aging dog and every loving family who needed it next.

That promise became my life's work.
7 years. 384 prototypes, 4 Veterinary consultants and a physicist, later. Countless nights at my royal seamstress mother's old sewing machine. From all of it, the dynamic mobility bracing system was born. Not as a business. As a love letter. A love letter to aging dogs and the dog moms and dads who would do anything to keep them close.

Because here is the truth no one tells you about senior dogs. They do not stop wanting to participate in life. They still want to follow you into the kitchen.
Still want to greet you at the door. Still want to feel the grass beneath their paws and the sun on their faces.
They simply need a little support to keep doing it.

That is what we make. A patented, doctor designed mobility system, built in veterinary integrative medicine, with a 97.9% success rate and thousands of good mornings given back to dogs the world had quietly written off.

Everything we create carries Cooper's pawprint on it. Only Lucky walks beside me now, our 12 year old rescue who reminds me every day that elder dogs are not at the end of their story. They are in the chapter that matters most.
When I am gone someday, I hope this is what I'm remembered for. Helping loving families keep their dogs comfortable, mobile, confident, and by their side for as long as possible.

If your senior is starting to slow down, starting to drag a paw, starting to struggle to rise, please do not wait. The sooner we support those tired postural muscles, the more good days we get to give back.

Cooper got 20 years because I acted right away after his injury and subsequent slowing.

Give me a chance to help you dog. They are worth it🐕‍🦺

Keep Love With You

OUR VISION

To provide in-home natural physical corrective solutions so dogs can return or continue an active healthy 20+ year lifetime.

OUR MISSION

To reduce the number of unnecessary euthanasia events, the pain of that loss, in the world by getting our braces into dog parents' hands.

OUR VALUES

Provide outstanding personal professional support, verifiable efficacy and empowering education.

I just wanted to make sure my love was not lost too early, and to give Cooper a fighting chance. I like 🌈rainbows🌈, but this was a bridge I did not want to cross, yet.

Back to the story... After a cortisone shot at the Emergency Vet Clinic and a poor prognosis (they wanted $14K to 'explore his spine'), I asked for a gentle dynamic back brace to stabilize Cooper’s back. I assumed the Vet clinic had something for Cooper. They didn’t, the only options were more life-reducing drugs, shots, and surgery. Cooper was too fragile for all of that. I needed something that could stabilize him while allowing him to move, lay down, and help him heal comfortably. So, I rolled up my sleeves and embarked on a quest to help him. I refused to quit or take what was dealt to me without a fight. Cooper is my ride or die.

I then learned of a well-respected Veterinary Rehabilitation clinic that was actually near my house in Portland, Oregon. I needed to find a veterinarian that was cutting edge, someone who didn’t just rely on drugs and surgery. Dr. Bianca Shaw is that (40 years in the business) veterinarian, and she was inspired to help me test my braces to improve Cooper’s mobility. Over the next 5 years, it was an advisorship, built not just on helping my Cooper, but on improving the quality of life of all older and injured dogs. Hundreds of iterations later, the vest and sleeve brace design that I cobbled out of soccer socks, came true. Dr. Shaw tested them with me in her clinic and it worked! It became the first sleeve-based, gentle resistance, elastic leg lifting, restoring balance and symmetry brace available without a prescription. But don't forget to check with your dog's personal veterinarian for usage guidance.
